Werewolf Bikes, one of our sister charities, develops and builds specially adapted bikes for disabled riders. Werewolf Bikes is also based in our High Green Court premises.
There’s more than one kind of bike, and that’s certainly important. Through modified and recumbent bikes, and pedal powered transporters, disabled people are able to cycle where they may not have been able before. And cycling isn’t just good for you, its also fun.
Giving often marginalised disabled people the tools to join in with one of the UK’s favourite sports is very important. Cycling makes you healthier, but that’s not all. Cycling is inclusive, and giving disabled people the tools to be part of the cycling community, and in some cases to compete in sporting events, is very important.
In the future, Werewolf Bikes will build and develop custom recumbent bikes, which place the rider in a laid-back reclining position, and custom built pedal powered transporters.
Werewolf Bikes will also make completely custom wheels, and professional quality custom built mountain bikes.
